So far I've only enjoyed breakfast here but every time (all two of them!) it's been amazing! The service is friendly and the food is healthy and oh-so-delicious! There's nothing too special about the inside - kind of a typical breakfast joint - but the food - so good. Eat here!

Nice sit-down breakfast place in Sundance Plaza, so closer to the mountain than downtown establishments. Very friendly staff and a good variety of well-made breakfast dishes. Good coffee. Casual atmosphere, inexpensive.

We've been in Steamboat for 2 days and this was the best food we've had yet. I had the pancake and yes it was just 1 cake, but it's huge. Although, its a wheat batter, it was surprisingly good. My hubby had the waffle, which is a big waffle fan and he said this one was pretty good.

Though Steamboat is not my primary residence; I am here every season, and this place never fails delivering excellent food at fair prices on a consistent basis!! The Egg and I is a franchise...which personally I am thrilled about...I can get my favorite Eggs Benedict or Arizona Turkey sandwich, or Chicken Salad on raisin toast any of their locations! I am a foodie...I've tried Freshies, Creekside, Winona's and this place is still my favorite!

This is breakfast and lunch at its best! Yes, its a franchised chain, but with so few good breakfast places around, The Egg & I stand far above the rest. The quality and originality of the menu is exceptional, the service is always superb, and I always leave feeling like I ate more than I paid for. This is probably the highest on my recommendation list, simply for the absolute consistency, it's high standards of providing rich experience, and of course, the food is great. At breakfast or lunch, you will be serenaded with light classical music, surrounded in a brightly lit, open dining room, and waited on my friendly, professional servers. Their Crab Cake Eggs Benedict is one of the closest things you can taste this side of heaven.

Just don't. Freshies Creekside Winona's Give a hoot, eat local. Seriously, I've eaten this chain in Estes & Longmont, acceptable. But my one & only experience here was embarrassing as a cook myself. Just don't.

Still a great breakfast! Had the Wisconsin scramble it was just all good! Not a huge fan of the fried (as in deep fried) potatoes but other than that, very very good!

What a great breakfast place! One of my favorite places to go before a long day of adventure no matter what season is upon us.

Mediocre at best. I got the Mediterranean frittata. The amount of cheese was disgusting.

Solid food and service. Decent (and appropriately) priced. Atmosphere: Bright, clean. Food: I tried the skillet meal of ranch potatoes with bacon and ham topped with a lid of eggs and hollandaise. Crisp potatoes and bacon, good flavor in the hollandaise, eggs cooked just like I ordered them. Service: Quick, courteous. This restaurant could be "Anywhere, USA." If one opened in my city, I'm sure it would be a popular breakfast spot.

Started with awesome service. A bit slow to be seated, but place is very popular. Some of the best tasting ranch potatoes and scrambled eggs I've ever had. They did the traditional simple stuff very well, and the distinct cinnamon roll French toast and Farmer's omelet were like nothing I've had before. Will make this a staple of Steamboat visits.

I have several friends who LOVE The Egg & I. I just don't get it. The food is fine, not great. Service is fine, not great. Ambience and decor.... meh. If country decor is your thing, you'll like this location. And it's not cheap -- daughter and I just dropped $35 on bkfst (including tip). Just not a great value. Eggs Benedict were bland, as was corned beef hash. And the Belgian waffle my daughter had was roughly the same quality as what you make yourself in a hotel breakfast room. I suppose the same could be said about any chain, but there must be better local breakfast spots, with more unique and tasty food, for no more money.

We really enjoyed our food. The wheat pancakes my kids had, were really good. So good, that I kept munching on them. My husband had the chicken, green chile hash, and he thought it was delicious. The coffee was good and strong. I had the greek frittata and it was a little greasy for me but tasted good. What I really enjoyed about this place is that it was kid friendly and spacious. Often times at breakfast places, it feels really crowded and a bit claustrophobic. And the kids get a basket of dinosaur and cowboy toys (which stay at the restaurant of course) on top of the usual coloring menu/crayons. My kids were very entertained. The basket of toys is a genius move.

My hubby and I went in on our first morning in Steamboat and enjoyed our breakfast. We sat outside and the waiter was eager to make sure we didn't have too much sun while we were out there. I ordered he ham and cheese omelet. It was too big for me to finish, the potatoes that came with it were very good. My hubby got what the waiter said was new improved oatmeal, it came loaded with fruit and was very tasty and VERY filling. We enjoyed our meal very much, and it was just across the street from our room and was in walking distance. We were able to walk off some of the food after the substantial meal.

Perfect place to grab a quick bite before heading to the slopes. Food was delicious and came out fast. Servers were polite. All in all a very good experience.

Good for a healthy, high protein breakfast or lunch, and lots of hot sauce.

Average breakfast chain...it's food fixed fast with not a lot fuss. Nothing special but it will get your day started with a good meal at a reasonable price.

I bought a hotsteamboatdeal on-line for $20 worth of food for $10. To my surprise, after paying for the deal I was able to print out two vouchers. They were now $10 of food for $5. I felt it was bait and switch on the deal. The coupon said "one coupon per customer per visit". The manager said it really meant "one coupon per table per visit". He also said the way the deal was structured was to encourage two visits. I will not go back to this restaurant. The food was fair. Go to the Creekside Cafe & Grill and you will be much happier.

Great menu and friendly staff. It was so good I came in 2 days in a row during my vacation to steamboat. And when I forgot my wallet the second time they were very cool about it. Thank you

The Egg & I is the best breakfast in Steamboat. The decor is warm and cozy. The wait staff is friendly and fun. The main reason I come here us the food. I love breakfast food, while my wife likes to eat from a lunch menu. The Egg & I is perfect for both if us.

Absolutely delicious! We had 6 in our party and everyone was pleased. The service isn't the best but the quality of the food far overshadows!

One of the best breakfasts I've had in a while considering I don't eat breakfast too often. They have this signature hot sauce that taste so good with my potatoes and scrambled eggs. I ordered the Colorado Scrambled. It comes with scrambled eggs with ham, tomatoes, bell peppers and onions, your choice of toast and either bacon or sausage. I wasn't able to finish it up buy it was definitely worth $8.99. Oh yeah, my waitress was so helpful. She took to time to give my group the directions to strawberry hot springs and even looked at our 15-passenger van to give us advice on how to get there safely. I haven't had such an attentive waitress in a long time. Her name is Averi.
